My Own
Experience as a Lasik Patient
Dr. Andrew Caster
I began
wearing glasses when I was twelve years old. Although I
could see very well with them, I never liked the way I
looked in glasses. Growing up in Florida, I loved to swim,
but I couldn’t see very well when I took my glasses off.
Playing sports with glasses was often a problem, because
my glasses would become foggy, sweaty, or would get
knocked around.
The Caster Eye Center provides detailed, initial consultations with Dr. Caster to determine your suitability for Laser Vision Correction. The purpose of this consultation is for you and Dr. Caster to meet each other, to determine if you are a candidate for laser vision correction, to determine the most suitable variation of the procedure for your particular situation, and to answer all your questions.
This initial consultation takes approximately 2 hours. The fee is $100. During this consultation we will perform multiple tests, including measurements of your eyes with and without your glasses and/or contact lenses, wavefront analysis, computerized pupil size measurements, cornea curvature/topography, and cornea thickness calculations. You will be able to tour our facility and see our technology, including our lasers and our wavefront equipment. You will meet with Dr. Caster; he will examine your eyes, review all the information about you and your eyes, answer all your questions, and address your individual situation and concerns.
If you wear contact lenses, we will need to make additional measurements after you have been out of the contact lenses for an appropriate amount of time. These measurements are typically performed on the day of your treatment.
